Climate change has already begun; it is an acute threat to humanity and our planet. Even if the effects can no longer be reversed, we can limit them with consistent measures. For the health of future generations, it is our duty to do everything we can to reduce global warming to below two degrees if possible. Despite great efforts, it is not possible for our clinic to become completely CO2-free in the short or medium term, as we are dependent on our suppliers for products or services that are often not yet CO2-free.
It is therefore part of our holistic climate protection strategy to activate an effective mechanism through CO2 offsetting in order to make a contribution to global climate protection, even with regard to unavoidable emissions. We do not see this compensation as a burden for our management, but as an opportunity to reduce the costs of repairing the damage caused by climate change through targeted and responsible early action and to benefit more quickly from the economic advantages.
This includes not only higher economic growth in the long term, but also the avoidance of damage that would otherwise occur. Our sunlight farm on the roof of the clinic currently generates 1.96 megawatt hours (MWh) per month - the equivalent of 1960 kilowatt hours (kWh); a European consumes an average of 127 kWh per day, which means that our solar power system ensures the daily electricity consumption of 15 people in our clinic. A start has therefore been made, with sales increasing on bright days. Let's look forward with confidence to many sunny days and more good ideas for a future worth living.
