Ultrasound (synonym sonography) is essential for the diagnosis of kidney disease.
This simple and non-stressful examination can be used to quickly and accurately diagnose or rule out urinary retention.
Ultrasound is also used in the diagnosis of high blood pressure, e.g. to rule out renal artery stenosis, but also in the differentiated diagnosis of kidney and kidney transplant failure or venous thrombosis.
The renal center is equipped with state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment. In addition to 3 large devices, 3 further mobile sonography devices are used.
More than 5,000 ultrasound examinations are carried out each year by specialist doctors trained for this purpose.
Ultrasound diagnostics is a clinical focus of the renal center and is available 24 hours a day.
In addition to the clinical focus, there is also a scientific focus on new ultrasound examination techniques, which are used in particular for the diagnosis of transplant kidneys but also for tumor diagnostics.
