Again we invited international colleagues and will conduct the session in English. Due to requests from the audience, this 2nd International Biopsy Conference will start with a brief overview regarding the basics of histopathology and a short introduction on how a renal biopsy is performed and how it is processed. Afterwards, the case of minimal change glomerular nephropathy (MCGN) will be presented.
In the fifth biopsy conference you will hear the speakers you already know. We will start with the presentation of active sediment in the case of a 70-year-old patient who presented with acute renal failure. The second case to be presented is a 70-year-old female kidney transplant patient with secondary oxalosis in the transplant. In case 3, you will hear about a 40-year-old female patient with secondary renal hypertension. Prof. Martin Zeier will guide us through the evening.
This time, we have invited international colleagues and will conduct the session in English. Through Dr. Vjollca Godanci - President of Kosovo Society of Nephrology - we have the special opportunity for knowledge transfer by exchange with colleagues from Kosovo, Albania, Macedonia, Croatia, Montenegro, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
You will hear nephrologists Beimler and Mundt from the NZH in discussion with colleagues Waldherr and Schwab from the Heidelberg Institute of Pathology. This specialist training session starts with the case of a young female patient from the "Hypertension" topic complex, then presents a hereditary disease in a physically fit patient aged around 25 with an Alport complex, before concluding with the biopsy of an IgG4-associated nephropathy. The session will again be moderated by Chief Physician Zeier.
