Cardiovascular and kidney diseases are very closely linked pathophysiologically and influence each other. It is assumed that around every second heart failure patient in Germany also suffers from chronic kidney disease. As renal insufficiency is one of the most important cardiovascular risk factors, every kidney patient should also receive cardiological care. In particular, patients with renal insufficiency on dialysis or after transplantation represent a challenge for nephrologists and cardiologists alike. Innovative interdisciplinary diagnostic and therapeutic concepts are therefore more important than ever for optimal medical care.
At this year's Heart and Kidney Workshop, we will once again be addressing current and future topics at the interface between cardiology and nephrology, which will be presented by recognized experts in their field.
We hope that we have succeeded in putting together a varied and interesting program and are looking forward to your participation, lively discussions and a collegial exchange of experiences at the 22nd Heart and Kidney Workshop!
